Mutant - A mutant is a person whose genetics have been altered so that they have special powers. These powers usually first show up in the teenage years and remain active for the rest of the person's life. The cause for the mutation in genetics remains unclear. Radiation, chemicals, or even a freak occurrence of nature have all been suggested causes. The most likely cause though seems to be that "mutants" are the next step in human evolution.
